Dear organisers, participants and visitors of the 28th International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino!,
In the course of several festival days, young viewers will have the opportunity to watch over a hundred films from all over the world that have been created specifically for them. There are shorts and full-length feature films from 34 countries in the official selection, reflecting the variety and richness of the content of young audience cinematography.
The International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino! is an extremely valuable educational initiative that makes it possible for young viewers to get to know other cultures and traditions, develop their sense of tolerance and openness to the world. Films presented at the festival are a vehicle not only for sharing this knowledge in an attractive way, but also for rousing young people's interest in a number of scientific disciplines, like geography, history or art.
The additional attraction of the Ale Kino! Festival is the fact that the directors, actors and authors of the presented films are present at the event in person so it is possible to talk to them about such topics as the role of films in education. It is worth noting that the festival is a unique occasion to watch films which, in large measure, do not enter regular cinema distribution.
I would like to congratulate the organisers of the International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino!, the only event of this scale in the country dedicated to films for children and teenagers, on creating such a valuable initiative and I would like to wish all young cinemagoers plenty of unforgettable experiences.
