Maciej Jakubczyk
He is a sociology graduate from the University of Warsaw. It was in the discussion film club for sociologists Pod Spodem, which he helped create, where he got interested in film. Since 2005, he has been connected with New Horizons Association, where he is the co-author of the project called The New Horizons of Film Education, a nationwide educational programme held in arthouse cinemas. In New Horizons Association, he is also responsible for the coordination of cinema distribution. He is also actively involved in Grupa eFTe Warszawa, which deals with the promotion of conscious consumption and fair trade. He is a big fan of Planete Doc Review productions, in particular The Monastery: Mr. Vig and the Nun, Encounters at the End of the World and Tuning Instruments. In 2009, Maciej Jakubczyk was nominated for the Man of the Year award by the culture review weekly Co jest grane.
